Play It Again Sam!

It’s that time of year again when we look at closing things down for the winter. Thinking about how to stay warm, hunker down and watch some football. Prep the property, rv’s and check the tread depth on the vehicle tires. Can I make it just one more winter with these tires? The days are getting shorter, the shadows are longer and the evenings are cooler. It’s actually much more comfortable this time of year. It’s pretty much the same routine every year. Play it again Sam! I am always thankful for fall. I love the changing seasons. Time is precious and is shorter every year. But is it really shorter every year? I feel it is shorter, yet I know it isn’t. I think I’m trying to get more accomplished in the same amount of time. I promised my lovely wife I would build a greenhouse and have it ready for fall for late vegetable harvests. Something changed. I injured my knee and had to have surgery. Pretty slim chance you’ll catch me on a ladder fastening clear panels to the frame of the greenhouse. My intentions were good, but my body doesn’t want to cooperate. I’ll have to do that thing where I lay aside my pride and ask for help. I guess that’s where it ends up as you get older.

I won’t forget to transform the shed into a greenhouse. I’ll take that up over the warmer days of winter in order to utilize it for early seed planting. Every year my plans change because I have to be flexible for unforeseen incidents that dictate those changes. It’s the same routine….play it again Sam!
