I love you DAD!
Father’s Day weekend. I feel alone and sad as I remember my dad. This is my second Father’s Day without him. Or is it? My dad left a big hole in the hearts of those who knew him. However, I wish to refer to my ongoing life as I know him…present tense. The memories of my dad flood my mind every day. His memory is present…not past. He is alive in heaven and in eternal happiness. I still strive to somehow please him and gain approval. That is the challenge a boy continues throughout his life whether his dad is here or in heaven. My dad was a hard worker, sturdy…gritty…tough but had a beautiful soft heart that demanded the same from me. Hard work, sturdy, gritty, tough and soft heart with hugs and words of encouragement to others.
I reached out to all four of my children the other day. It was just a text message. My kids always respond with words that tell me they are hard workers…sturdy….gritty and tough with soft hearts. I guess those fine traits can be credited to my DAD!
Happy Father’s Day in heaven DAD! I LOVE YOU FOREVER!
