How much is enough?
I ask that question about various things several times a day. Is there enough gas in the car? Did I over eat the last meal? Are there enough choices of toothpaste at Walmart? Do I pay the government too much tax? Did I get enough done in the office today? Are my goals high enough? Did I make enough money last month? Will I have enough for retirement?
I could go crazy trying to keep up with all the items that demand the question be answered…..How much is enough? Contentment can sure be helpful about right now! Back off Mike. Relax. Take a deep breath.
Robynn and I have been learning to go to smaller businesses, stores and providers for some of our purchases. Less variety sure makes those grocery trips easier! Less variety also helps keep our impulse spending in check. Score, I just fixed a couple of the questions above.
But what about those other items listed above? Retirement….fuel in the tank…..taxes….Well, all I can say is I’m going to plan carefully. I will pay attention and do the best I can with many mistakes along the way. I sure don’t want to run out of gas or pay too much tax. Yes, I have run out of gas a few times in my life. I will ask forgiveness and extend grace. My working days ahead are far fewer than the days I have worked. Yes, the mistakes of the past can and do haunt me. Those memories are painful to review at times. What I do know is that I must live here now. I will make the best memories and choices I can in each moment and trust Him above to take care of the rest.
Blessings to all of you during the coming spring season which brings new life as seeds sprout and we remember the joy of the Eastertide!
