“Help is on the way!”
Recently, Robynn and I interviewed a local business person who we had been chasing for nearly a year after they had expressed an interest in our services. Not wanting to apply pressure to an already weary business owner, we gently nudged them for a meeting two or three times over a nine month period. Robynn encountered this person at a local event and had a very brief engagement of how they REALLY needed to meet with us. I waited another three or four weeks and reached out to them again. We finally agreed on a date, time and place to meet. Persisting finally paid off.
Another client we currently serve sent me a text stating he was very overwhelmed. I had watched his business grow by ten fold over just a few years. Balancing family life and maintaining another full time job was catching up.
The point I want to make today is that being busy is good. We can all agree that if we are busy in our businesses, that’s really good. It seems like we all want more. I’m just like you! I want to be busy and stay busy in my business. I even wish for it to grow. It seems like with the ever increasing prices with our inflationary economy, we actually do need more since money just doesn’t go as far as when we started our businesses. But how do we grow when we are already so busy? How can we make this all fit together so our families and friends will still be able to spend good time with us, and I mean GOOD time? I’m not a guru at all, but my encouragement to the two business owners in the stories above was basically the same. You need help! In the first story, the business owner was behind on tax filings, transaction posting and business license filings. Robynn and I can absolutely catch these items up and keep them maintained. The second story was the same answer but with a different twist. Since they are already my client, I said we can do more for you, and you can certainly outsource some tasks to skilled people that share your talents. Just getting caught up and staying current in our businesses can be huge if the stress level reduces!
I like the starting quote above. It popped into my head when I sat down to begin typing this blog post. I wanted to give credit where it is due, and after googling the quote I couldn’t find one that fit this context. So I’m going to own it today! If you need some secretarial/tax help in your business….or if you know a business owner that is stressing over missed deadlines etc., give us a call or send your friend our way. A quick interview with a few encouraging words and resolve to move the ball forward WITH you will begin the therapy of stress reduction!
